Marquette Dance has a wonderful array of talented and dedicated instructors for all our classes.

Missy Marquette

Missy Marquette began dancing at the tender age of 3. Growing up she studied tap, jazz, lyrical and ballet at various studios in Northwest Ohio. At age 15, she began her teaching career along side of her own classes at Becky’s School of Dance. At Becky’s, she was a member of Personality Plus Tap and Jazz Dance Team and eventually received the top honor of becoming a Becky Taylor Dancer. She used her talents through high school choreographing the school plays and musicals.

She attended the University of Akron and graduated with a BA in Dance Performance with concentrations in Dance History and Dance Education. At the U of A, Missy performed with the Touring Ensemble and Repertory Dance Company. She has choreographed for Our Lady of the Elms Show Choir, Cuyahoga Falls MM’s auditions, Kent HS production of Oliver and Stow HS production of Beauty and the Beast. She resides in Cuyahoga Falls with her family. She loves to scrapbook, has a passion for photography and loves all things crafty. She also enjoys cooking and gardening. She is thrilled to be celebrating the 15th anniversary of Marquette School of Dance!


Molly has spent most of her life participating in gymnastics, cheer, and dance since the age of 3.  Shortly after Molly was sent to her first jazz class, she went on to study tap, modern, ballet, hip hop, and become part of her studio’s competition and performance team.  During her run as a cheerleader, Molly won numerous awards such as, Americheer and NCA All-American, COA National qualifier, and named all-around best cheerleader at local competitions.  Molly was also a member of the Northeast Ohio All-stars, which earned her a 1st place National team title in Orlando, Florida.  Molly has used her talent to choreograph for many area high school teams as well as the Mount Union College Dance Team.  She has also had the privilege of being a Kent State University Cheerleader.

Molly has since transferred and graduated from the University of Akron with a BA in Dance Performance with concentrations in Dance History and Dance Education.  Molly’s collegiate training includes studying under former members of the Pennsylvania Ballet, Ohio Ballet, and Martha Graham Company to name a few.  While at The University of Akron Molly choreographed and performed in the Choreographer’s Workshops and Spring Into Dance concerts.  She was also a member of the Terpsichore Dance Club and University of Akron Dance Company.

Molly has recently led the after school dance program at Herberich Primary School grades K–4th.  She loves to attend dance conventions to keep up on the latest choreography and teaching tools and has traveled to New York where she has had the pleasure of taking master classes to further her training.  She is very honored to be the Assistant Director and Performance Team Coordinator at Marquette School of Dance.  Molly has shared her passion in the studio classroom for over 14 years and is elated to celebrate Marquette’s 15 year anniversary!

In addition to teaching dance, Molly takes pride in her experience with instructing Zumba Fitness, Cardio Hip Hop, and Dance Fitness classes. She will also be welcoming her 2nd child into the world this November. It’s a girl!


Jess is a dancer, teacher and choreographer with an emphasis in ballet and modern dance. She graduated with a 3.94 GPA from Kent State University with a Master of Arts in Teaching for Dance, P–12 licensure in May 2012 and received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Dance from the University of Akron in May 2007. She is honored to be a former treasurer of the Student Dance Education Organization and a member and supporter of OhioDance, National Dance Education Organization, Ohio Alliance for Arts Education, Ballet in the City and the Society of Dance History Scholars.

She earned the Dean’s List, Outstanding Achievement in Educational Leadership Award, and Eugenia V. Erdmann Memorial Award from the Dance Faculty at Kent State University. Jess has had the opportunity to attend the American College Dance Festival as well as master classes with David Parsons, Pilobolus Dance Theatre, Martha Graham Dance Company, Miami City Ballet, Allison DeBona from Ballet West and several dance classes in New York City. She has also performed in the faculty dance concert, student dance festival, and BFA senior concert at Kent State University as well as the Dance Showcase at Playhouse Square in Cleveland. She choreographed for the spring 2012 student dance festival concert at Kent State as well as the spring musical, Seussical JR. at Falcon Academy of Creative Arts in Brimfield and the spring dance concert at Firestone High School.

Jess has been teaching at Marquette School of Dance in Stow since 2001. She also taught at Northeast Ohio Dance in Wadsworth, taught dancers with disabilities for the Dancing Wheels Company and School in Cleveland, taught reading, English and dance at Akron First Academy and was the performing arts teacher and physical education teacher at SCOPE Academy. Jess had the opportunity to present and teach at the OhioDance Festival in Columbus and guest teach at Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts, Akron School for the Arts and Hattie Larlham. Jess is also currently working on her nutritional coaching certification. Jess lives in Kent with her husband Jared and their four cats; Xavier, Esme, Tabby and Orange Julius! Jess and Jared are excited about their adoption process this year!


Sarah grew up in the Akron area and began her dance study under the direction of Christine Jones Meneer, the current Artistic Director of the Ballet Theatre of Ohio. While studying with Meneer, Sarah had the opportunity to perform with the Children’s Ballet Theatre (currently Ballet Theatre of Ohio) in the ballets of The Nutcracker and Cinderella, portraying roles such as the Dew Drop Fairy and the Fairy Godmother. As a student of Meneer, Sarah also had the opportunity to study with members of the Ohio Ballet, including Peter Dickey, Richard Dickinson and Xochitl Tejeda de Cerda.

Sarah continued her dance studies at Kent State University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance Education, with an Ohio License to teach in the public schools. While at Kent, Sarah had the opportunity to study with Andrea Shearer, Kimberly Karpanty, Julie Gentry, Tommy Parlon and Dr. Darwin Prioleau. During her stay at Kent, she was fortunate to be able to participate in guest artist residencies by Karen Love, Chung-Fu Chang, Peter Kyle, the Dance Alloy of Pittsburgh, and Bridgman/Packar. While studying at Kent, Sarah also had the opportunity to perform professionally with Leaven Dance Company under the direction of Kathryn Mihelic.

Sarah also has over ten years experience as a Dance Educator at Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts. She has designed and created innovative and integrated dance lessons for fourth through eighth grade students that actively educates using the Ohio Dance Standards. Courses that she has taught are modern, jazz, tap, creative movement, improvisation and dance composition, and dance history.

Sarah has choreographic experience not only for dance productions, but for musical productions as well. At Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts, Sarah has choreographed The Firebird, Seussical the Musical, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, The Music Man, Guys and Dolls, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Charlotte’s Web, Dr. Doolittle, Les Miserables and Pippi Longstocking.

Sarah is also a qualified dance assessor for students who demonstrate the desire to obtain the recognition of Gifted and Talented in the Visual and Performing Arts. Students must display their talent through an audition or performance. Sarah scores students using a rubric designed by the Ohio Department of Education.

Sarah continues to make the Akron area her home and enjoys spending time with her husband and new son! She is very excited to return to Marquette School of Dance for another year.


Susan has been dancing most of her life, growing up in and around the Cleveland area, she has studied at various dance studios, most notably Chagrin Valley School of Ballet where she was a member of The Chagrin Valley Ballet Company. As part of The Chagrin Valley Ballet Company, Susan performed several times a year locally and through area schools, performing variations from classical ballets as well as providing educational lecture demonstrations taught by members of the Cleveland Ballet.

Susan has also studied at Fairmount Center for the Arts, Cleveland City Dance and summer intensives through Dance Cleveland. Susan attended Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and received a BFA in Dance. During college she taught at several dance studios and performed at Wright State in their annual dance concert and student showcase.

Following college, Susan taught dance classes at Falls Dance Studio and performed with Dance Image. Susan has studied with Susana and Tom Evert of the Tom and Susana Evert Dance Company and has performed with the company at various local venues including; Cleveland Public Theatre, Oberlin College and Tri C West. Susan has also performed and choreographed at The Aurora Community Theater, Aurora High School and Stow Players her favorites being Brigadoon, Guys and Dolls and Gypsy. 

Most recently, Susan had the opportunity to participate in classes at the Broadway Dance Center in NYC as a part of the studio dance trip which was awesome and inspiring.  Susan lives in Hudson with her husband John, 3 sons, John (15), Colin (13), Brandon (10) and 1 daughter Sarah (7) who dances at Marquette. Susan is so blessed to be a part of the Marquette Dance Faculty and hopes to inspire her students through her love of dance.


Krista began dancing at the age of 6 at Judy Conti Dance Studio in Youngstown, OH where she found her love for teaching at the early age of 10 while student teaching. She began teaching at the age of 15. At Judy’s, she studied multiple styles of dance and was a selected member of the performance lines and competition teams. During the summers, Krista trained under Broadway Dance Center instructor Tracie Stanfield and Treamine Hip Hop Instructor Marty Dew.

Krista attended Youngstown State University perusing a degree in Music Theory and a minor in Dance for 3 years where she was Captain of the YSU Basketball Danceline. She was also a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota- Professional Women’s Music Fraternity participating in charitable work such as: painting preschools, singing in a choir at local nursing homes during Christmas, and raising money as well as volunteering at the Battered Women and Children Center of Youngstown to help run the choir and music classes the Fraternity offered there. She held the office of Coordinating Secretary and organised the first district SAI event. In 2010, she transferred to Kent State University and completed a Bachelor in Music Education in 2012 graduating Cum Laude. While there she was student leader of the Music Education department planning FAB Fridays for schools to take master classes and a tour guide for incoming music students. Krista was the Dance Choreographer for the OVAC All-Star Danceline for 3 years and was invited to join Dance Masters of Ohio by the current President.

Krista has been teaching at Marquette School of Dance since 2010 and a department manager at Kohls of Stow since 2012. She currently resides in Stow with her husband Zac and their two cats Carmina and Poof.


Nikki started dancing at the age of 3. She first began dancing at Carole Cain Dance School in Stow, Ohio. Nikki’s parents signed her up for dance classes to help her build confidence and meet new friends. Nikki has been dancing for 21 years in all types of dance. Her favorite type of dance is Tap. Nikki used to perform on Marquette’s performance teams for 7 years and was an assistant teacher for 6 years and then joined the Marquette staff as a dance teacher.

Nikki lives in Stow with her roommate Kaylee. Nikki attended Kent State University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Science for Community Health Education. She is super excited to learn and grow in her profession and hopefully find a job in it!

Other than dance, Nikki loves to hang out and babysit her niece baby Ryleigh, volunteer and is now an alumnus of her sorority Chi Omega. Some of Nikki’s hobbies include crafting, hanging out with friends, watching scary movies and relaxing in her down time.
